The Struggle Begins
The first time Edward received a notice from Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services, he was confused. He thought it had to be some sort of mistake. In his latest letter, Edward had given them a deadline: 14 days to respond. He made it clear that this matter was important, that it could not and would not be ignored. He was done waiting, done being pushed aside by a system that had no regard for fairness. He had worked too hard, sacrificed too much, to let them win now.
The Fight Continues
As he sat at his kitchen table, surrounded by papers, Edward felt a new surge of determination. He had been through so much, but he wasn’t going to give up.
